Reflection
The way my work in this class has helped me to understand more about the world of digital communication is that now I have a better idea of how social media can influence in getting a job. That for me to be successful in this field, I need to make sure I don't post anything bad or controversial on my Facebook page, for example.
The area that I have a especial interest so far is interviewing people. As I want to become a sports broadcaster, it will be part of my job to interview athletics after the game. Therefore, learning about these interview techniques was something very useful that I am sure I will have a chance to apply in the future.
Like I said before, interviews are something I will most likely have to do in my career. The way I environ myself using the knowledge for this class is when I will be preparing an interview and I will already know the best way to set everything up, for example.
The professional goals I am going to set up for myself is to get a internship either during the summer or next fall at Limestone. Also start updating my website with writing samples and design samples.

Virtual Reality in 2019

As VR seemed like a good idea for the future, this industry has been facing challenges to actually be successful in the market. As for now, most people don't even plan on getting a VR head set. The reason for this is that an VR head set is not seem as something the consumers can get a lot out of it, since it is more about the experience that it offers. Therefore, even though VR is still something companies are thinking about, the difficulty of getting consumers to think about the overall experience rather than the benefits, has been setting the industry back so far.

Interview tips

  1. Do your homework - Know your interviewers background
  2. Don't try to wing it, have your questions written down in a paper
  3. Don't ask yes or no questions - You want your subject to talk
  4. Don't ask your subject to ask at the camera, get the subject to look at you. Don't be afraid, move the camera
  5. Leave more space in front of the person's nose and not behind it
  6. No space above the subject's head - eyes should be 2/3 in the shot
  7. Think about the background - it says a lot about you
  8. Don't let your subject break the frame with their hands while they are talking
